The Oakland Literacy Coalition is excited to announce an exclusive invitation for Literacy & Justice for All Symposium attendees to a private rough cut screening of the groundbreaking documentary, The Right to Read.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2022

The New Parkway Theater

Doors open at 5:00 PM,

Program & Film from 5:30 - 7:00 PM

The Right to Read shares the stories of Oakland NAACP activist and educator Kareem Weaver, an OUSD elementary teacher, and two American families who fight to provide our youngest generation with the most foundational indicator of life-long success: the ability to read. 

Space is limited and tickets are available on a first-come-first-served basis. After registering for the Symposium, you will receive an email with a link to reserve your free ticket to this private rough cut screening.

COVID Guidelines:

We ask that all attendees wear masks during the screening except when eating or drinking. All attendees must be vaccinated for Covid-19 or show proof of a negative test within 48 hours of the event to enter.

 

Depending on recommendations by local governments and health care practitioners, we may add additional health and safety requirements.

Please note: This event is not open to the public. You must be registered for the symposium to attend. No recording is allowed.
